Biography
The San Francisco punk garage rockers the Wrong Words came together after guitarist/singer Josh Miller and drummer Layla Cooper parted ways with their prior group White Music. Bassist Ajax Green soon joined the pair, and the three began performing locally. Their hard-edged approach quickly caught the attention of Chicago’s Trouble in Mind label, which issued the band’s debut single “What Went Wrong?” in 2010. Early the following year the same imprint put out the trio’s self-titled first album, a high-energy set. By the time they recorded their sophomore effort, Everything Is Free, the group had expanded their sound with horns, strings, and occasional ballads; Trouble in Mind released that album in fall 2013.
