The Wyldz operate as a power trio whose bluesy, groove-based neo-classic rock draws inspiration from heroes such as Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix, with their riff-heavy anthems constructed through extended jam sessions. Mitch Bassoul on bass and vocals, guitarist Alex Dhee, and drummer Oliv Porrini first crossed paths in 2010 at a music school in Paris. Sharing a passion for hard rock from the '60s and '70s, the three launched the group—originally called the Wild Child—to pursue their rock & roll ambitions. Before relocating to Austin, Texas in 2013, the band issued two self-produced albums in France: Let the Child Go Wild in 2011 and The Big Machine, Pt. 1 in 2012. Their American debut, Human Rise, appeared in 2013 after being tracked at Arlyn Studios in Austin under the guidance of producer Gordie Johnson. Following years of nationwide touring, the trio headed to Chicago in 2015 to work with Steve Albini, resulting in the May release of Interstellar Troubadours.
