Biography
Theoretical Girl represents the creative vehicle of Amy Eleanor Turnnidge, who works alongside supporting ensemble the Equations to fuse the sleek detachment of synth pop, the bright naivety of girl group vocals, and intermittent folk-tinged lines. Born in Southend-on-Sea, England, she later settled in London’s Muswell Hill, where she issued the single “Red Mist” and contributed tracks to anthologies including Digital Penetration and a release on Angular Records. Late in 2007 she joined the Salvia/XL roster, which brought out the “The Hypocrite” single in the first months of the next year. She then switched to Memphis Industries to deliver her first album, Divided, in summer 2009.
