Biography
Thomas "Big Hat" Fields, an accordionist born in Rayne, Louisiana, in 1947, emerged among the wave of newcomers who entered the zydeco circuit throughout the 1990s. Before he first touched an accordion in the late 1980s, fellow musicians already knew him for operating a zydeco club in the Grand Coteau area; around the same period he launched the Foot Stompin' Zydeco Band together with his wife Geneva, who handled bass duties. The Big Hat Man marked his recording debut in 1994, followed a year later by Come to Louisiana.
