Biography
Drawing from the raw punk and roll sounds of bands like the Dijits, the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Motörhead, and Nashville Pussy, Those Peabodys came together in 1999 to carry on that style. The lineup featured Clarke Wilson handling vocals and bass, Adam Hatley on guitar and vocals, JD Cronise on guitar, and Aaron Franklin on drums. Based in Austin, TX, the group performed extensively in their local area prior to the 2000 release of their debut self-titled album by Post-Parlo Records. Also in 2000, Dutch White issued a split EP pairing them with the Olive Group, another Texas act. They followed up in 2003 by putting out the high-energy Unite Tonight full-length through Tiger Style, a label based in New York.
