Thou Art Lord

Thou Art Lord originated in 1992 as an experimental industrial/deathcore/black metal endeavor led by Sakis Tolis, vocalist and guitarist of Rotting Christ, alongside the Magus, bassist of Necromantia. The pair launched the project to channel their shared interest in all things satanic, evil, and sinister. Their initial EP output, including Diabolou Archaes Legeones and a split with Belgium's Ancient Rites, delivered a relentless wall-of-destruction style in extreme metal marked by unmatched aggression and intensity. This momentum carried into the full-length releases Eosforos in 1994 and Appolyon in 1995. As Rotting Christ gained wider attention during the late '90s, Tolis found scant opportunity to pursue Thou Art Lord, leaving the project dormant through the rest of the decade. Revival came in 2002 when Septic Flesh vocalist Seth and drummer Akis K. augmented the founding duo, resulting in the sexually explicit DV8 album issued via the Greek independent label Black Lotus Records.
