Biography
From her grandmother Star, Tia Knight first cultivated a deep passion for the piano, taking up the instrument at seventeen before moving on to keyboards at twenty-one. Both skills developed entirely through self-instruction. Although she spent two years performing with a band, she has stated that "solo works best for me" and now devotes herself to an independent performing career.
Her creation of Medieval-themed ambient music reflects the influence of Stevie Nicks, alongside her appreciation for the works of Enya and Enigma.
During 1999 Knight founded her own imprint, Blackwood Manor Music, and in that same year completed her debut album, Blackwood.
