Biography
Madagascar experienced a surge in electric dance bands throughout the 1970s, as ensembles delivered popular styles including sega and salegy. Economic hardships of the 1980s forced numerous island studios to shut down, sending dance music underground. Amid the renewed optimism of the 1990s, a revival emerged through outfits such as Tianjama, which resumed recording.
