Biography
What seems at first like an eccentric personal name for a solo female performer turns out instead to belong to the band Tibi Lubin, whose frontwoman is singer/songwriter Katie Stewart. The group’s debut album, issued in 2004 as I Don't See You as a Dead Girl, offered minimalist and understated arrangements whose loose, stream-of-consciousness quality reflected new-wave and punk influences reminiscent of early-’80s British bands such as the Raincoats, Young Marble Giants, and the Marine Girls.
