Biography
Annie Sachs, a single mother based in Philadelphia, launched the dreamy lo-fi collage-pop project Tickley Feather after finding the act of recording music itself to be soothing. Her output has occasionally drawn comparisons to Ariel Pink. Across four years she shaped her songs inside her living room while staging performances at friends’ houses, among them a show with Panda Bear, before heading out on tour with Animal Collective. Paw Tracks, the label tied to that group, issued Tickley Feather’s self-titled debut album in spring 2008.
