Originating from Louisville, Kentucky, Tim Krekel focuses on unadorned rock and roll. He has supplied material to assorted performers such as Dr. Feelgood and Delbert McClinton, yet Patty Loveless registered his most prominent success with her version of “You Can Feel Bad.” Krekel has performed alongside numerous compatible musicians, above all his mentor Jimmy Buffett, whose patronage secured several key recording opportunities. By the close of the 1970s, however, Krekel ventured forward independently with his first album, Crazy Me. Continued national touring preceded his next release, Over the Fence, which appeared in 1986. Further road work brought scant label support, prompting one additional solo effort, Out of the Corner, in 1991. At that point he assembled the Groovebillys and concentrated on local dates around Louisville. Another solo album did not surface until 2002, when he wrote and issued Happy Town through Free Falls.
