Biography
In the summer of 2004, Time Again vocalist Daniel Dart and guitarist Elijah Reyes arranged a series of live dates despite having written no material and assembled no complete lineup, then saturated Los Angeles with stickers and flyers to build early awareness. Only days before their debut performance did the roster finally solidify, with bassist Brian "Boom-Boom" Burnham and a drummer completing the group; that initial drummer departed the following January and was succeeded by Ryan Purucker. The punk revivalist outfit Time Again, distinguished by its old-school aesthetics and a sound akin to Rancid, thereby came into official existence. The members kept performing throughout their local area and, the next June, released their self-titled EP on Rancid Records. By 2005 the band had begun appearing at venues beyond California, sharing bills with acts such as Social Distortion, the Circle Jerks, the Aquabats, and the Adolescents. Their efforts led to a January 2006 contract with Hellcat Records, the Epitaph subsidiary overseen by Tim Armstrong, and the full-length debut The Stories Are True appeared that April.
