Biography
Timothy Bloom works as a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer whose chief influences include Marvin Gaye, Jimi Hendrix, Bill Withers, and Jeff Buckley. Raised by pastors in North Carolina, he absorbed music constantly from an early age. His first professional steps came not through solo releases but via behind-the-scenes songwriting; the North Carolina native supplied two tracks, “My World” and “Fallin’,” for Smokey Robinson’s 2005 compilation My World: The Definitive Collection. In 2009 he contributed substantially to vocalist Dionyza’s independent album Quite Like Me. Solo recognition arrived in 2011 with the EP The Budding Rose, anchored by the ballad “‘Til the End of Time,” a duet with Veronika Bozeman that received an equally memorable video. The track registered on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop chart shortly before the arrival of Chris Brown’s F.A.M.E., an album that prominently featured Bloom’s composition “All Back.” His self-titled full-length Timothy Bloom appeared in 2014, fronted by the single “Stand in the Way (Of My Love),” whose video included an appearance by Herbie Hancock.
