Biography
Hailing from Seattle in the Pacific Northwest, To the Wind crafts a crushing fusion of post-hardcore and melodic punk metal, delivered through deliberate yet uplifting force. The group formed around the contributions of brothers Tanner on vocals and Ryan Murphy on guitar, joined by Matt Farage on guitar, Tron Laur on bass and vocals, and Cory Lamb on drums. Their debut EP, The Hardest Part, appeared independently in 2008, with the follow-up release Foundations arriving in 2010. The third EP, No More Than This from 2012, attracted the interest of Pure Noise, the punk/emo/hardcore label, which quickly signed the band and reissued the EP together with the full-length debut Empty Eyes the next year. The sophomore album Block Out the Sun & Sleep appeared in 2014.
