Biography
Hailing from Minneapolis, guitarist Todd Clouser studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston and later toured with the rock band 4 Letter Man. Around 2006 he moved to Baja, Mexico in search of a fresh artistic direction. Drawing on an array of sources such as Jimi Hendrix, Charlie Parker, Frank Zappa, Nels Cline, Miles Davis, and others, he issued his first solo recording, Baja, in 2007. The next year brought Beatnik Highway. His inventive, jazz-tinged work attracted the attention of New York trumpeter Steven Bernstein (Sex Mob), who joined Clouser for Mexican tours in 2009 and 2010 and contributed to the self-titled 2010 album by Clouser’s ensemble A Love Electric. In 2012 Todd Clouser’s A Love Electric, which included trumpeter Adam Meckler and another guest spot from Bernstein, delivered 20th Century Folk Selections.
