Biography
Tom Burbank, working as both producer and multi-instrumentalist, fuses left-field hip-hop with melodic electronica, placing his music in territory adjacent to Prefuse 73, RJD2, and labelmate Edit. A native of Los Angeles, he belonged at one time to the Fela tribute band Afrobeat Down while also delivering numerous DJ sets along the California coast through his connection to the BrokenBeat network. His first full-length album arrived in 2006 when Planet Mu, run by Mike Paradinas, issued Famous First Words. He described the record as "a wonderful arrangement of frequencies in the field of 20 to 20,000 hertz with a twist of do right."
