Biography
Tom Doherty first drew breath in Donegal, Ireland. Mastery of the melodeon came to him during the opening years of the 1920s. Work drew him onward, carrying him first through Scotland and England before he crossed to the United States and put down roots in Brooklyn. Across all those miles he sustained the uncommon Irish melodeon tradition, supplying music for dances, house parties, and informal sessions.
