Biography
Tom Gabel, a singer/songwriter whose work carried strong political and social themes, first earned notice as lead vocalist and guitarist of Against Me!, the genre-bending Florida punk outfit he launched at age 17 after leaving high school and spending years traveling the globe with his military family. Building on the breakthrough success of Against Me!’s 2007 release New Wave, he entered the studio to record a rapid solo project that confronted the political and economic conditions of the moment. The seven-song EP Heart Burns appeared in late 2008.
