Biography
A veteran of the guitar who also writes songs and produces, Tom Hemby has long served as a Nashville session and backing musician while maintaining an active solo career of his own. Missouri is his birthplace, and from there he began by touring alongside numerous acts that included Amy Grant, the Imperials, and others. His move to Nashville in 1978 led to studio opportunities with an expanding roster of artists whose names range from Vince Gill, Glen Campbell, and Kenny Loggins to Bebe & CeCe Winans and Peter Cetera. A range of performers have recorded his compositions, and his production work brought several awards that include four Dove Awards plus a Grammy. Instrumental jazz-fusion is the primary direction of his solo albums, among them 2006’s Chasing the Wind and 2010’s In the Moment.
