Tommy Tee stands out as Scandinavia's most enduring and widely embraced figure in hip-hop as a DJ, producer, and promoter. Growing up in Oslo where he remains based, and steeped early on in graffiti culture along with breakdancing, he launched into making mix tapes and securing club gigs during the mid-'80s. His initial radio program arrived in 1986, leading swiftly to a slot on the national NRK network via the highly rated National Rap Show. Tee launched the hip-hop magazine Fat Cap, and following multiple years at Norway's Mega Records he established the Tee Productions imprint. Among his production credits stands an album for standards singer Helèn Eriksen, which later received licensing from Blue Note, as well as his debut solo effort, the 1998 release Bonds, Beats and Beliefs, featuring input from Talib Kweli, Mike Zoot, and Craig G.
