Tono Rosario

Formerly at the helm of the merengue outfit Los Hermanos Rosario, Toño Rosario embarked on a thriving solo path in 1990. Born in the Dominican Republic, he co-founded the ensemble with his brother in 1978; although the act enjoyed strong popularity through the 1980s, he relocated to Puerto Rico and launched his independent work via the 1991 album Atado a Ti. Four of those solo releases attained gold certification, two of them reaching platinum as well, establishing him among the island’s foremost singing stars. Exclusivo appeared in 1998, and he followed a year later with Magia de el Cuco.
