Hailing from Miltown Malbay in County Clare, Ireland—a region long celebrated as a hub of traditional music—Tony MacMahon distinguished himself as a button accordion player. His key influences ranged from fellow accordionists Joe Cooley and Sonny Brogan to piper Willie Clancy, fiddler Bobby Casey, and singer and piper Seamus Ennis. Tony MacMahon passed away on October 8, 2021, at the age of 82.
