Biography
Emerging from a Seattle pair originally known as the Cowboy and the Spingirl—the project name adopted by bassist/guitarist/vocalist Frank Bednash and guitarist/vocalist Donna Esposito—Toothpaste 2000 took form once the lineup expanded. The two musicians first united in the mid-'80s, issuing the album Ear Candy together with several singles on the Parasol label. Drummer Duff Drew’s arrival prompted the decision to rename the band Toothpaste 2000. Its debut album, Death of the Italian Film Star, appeared in 1997, followed by Bachelorette two years afterward.
