Biography
In 2015 the lo-fi garage punk trio Top Down assembled in Portland, Oregon, uniting players from Germany, New Zealand, and the U.S. German guitarist/singer Szim, American bassist/singer Chuck Struggler, and Kiwi drummer Fiona Campbell cut their first tracks alongside legendary Portland punk Fred Cole of Dead Moon. Those sessions produced an EP issued on 7" by Voodoo Doughnut and on cassette by Struggler’s own No Chance label. Working again with Cole at the controls, Top Down laid down their debut LP, Rough Roads, which Voodoo Doughnut released in March 2017.
