Biography
Emerging from the identical neighborhood that first introduced audiences to the Replacements, Hüsker Dü, and Suicide Commandos, the energetic indie rock quintet Tora! Tora! Torrance! surfaced nearly twenty years after those earlier acts. Retaining the same ironic edge and intensity as their influences, the lineup features Travis Even on bass, Sam Johnson on guitar and keyboards, Nick Koenigs handling vocals, Jesse Panzer at the drums, and Jon Tester on guitar. The musicians united in 2000 following stints in assorted high-school groups. Their hungry debut album Get into It reached listeners in 2002. One year afterward Tora! Tora! Torrance! enlisted producer/engineer Neil Weir (Mull Historical Society, Alkaline Trio) to record A Cynic's Nightmare.
