Toshi Iseda, a virtuoso of the seven-string guitar, at last delivered his debut full-length album Full On! after devoting years to sharpening his instrumental technique, contributing pieces to guitar-focused outlets such as Guitar World, Guitar, Guitar Player, Showcase Midwest, and Guitarist Network, and leading lessons plus clinics across the globe. Earlier he had tracked material with the Columbia act Heaven's Edge and appeared on four Guitar World Indie Bin compilation discs.

Professional rock performance had long been his target. He first grasped the guitar in seventh grade, spurred in part by the widespread success of Kiss, Peter Frampton, and Aerosmith; his uncle Jeff Brown supplied additional impetus. While still in high school he played in several rock groups and pursued formal music study. After relocating east he joined the New England band Shoot Shoot, assembled by C. Bruce Ost, keyboardist on Aerosmith’s Permanent Vacation tour, and the group scored a Top Five Boston radio hit with “Blind Faith.”

Guitarist Reggie Wu later invited Iseda to audition for the role of second guitarist in the New Jersey band Heaven’s Edge; he remained with the lineup for one year. In May 1987 he enrolled at Boston’s Berklee College of Music. Following a twelve-month stay in New York City he returned to the Midwest, where Full On! appeared in 1998.
