David Lowe serves as the sole force behind Touch and Go, composing every track, overseeing production and arrangements, performing on drums, keyboards, and most of the bass while contributing select vocal parts. A shifting roster of outside players supplies the rest, including guest vocalists, brass and wind passages, guitar, and violin, without any holding formal status in the project.

Its debut album, I Find You Very Attractive, fuses retro-lounge jazz, swing, and Latin-Caribbean textures with current dance rhythms plus samples and effects. The songs, delivered in sung and spoken formats and frequently extended by instrumental sections, revolve around flirtatious remarks exchanged at fashionable gatherings of the affluent and stylish.

Lowe had previously supplied music for numerous television programs and commercials, an experience that directly shapes the arrangements and overall production aesthetic on the Touch and Go recordings. In 1997 he released a separate album under the name Dreamcatcher. Public recognition expanded sharply once “Would You...” climbed to a Top Three position in the U.K. in late 1998; its spoken segments originated in a television documentary Lowe was developing on the phrases exchanged by clubgoers and partygoers. The I Find You Very Attractive album continued to explore comparable lyrical themes. A substantial portion of the material has since been licensed for films, television themes, and commercials, completing a natural return to Lowe’s earlier commercial work.
