Tracy Johnson

Tracy Johnson’s earliest composition, penned at the age of eight, bore the title “Waltzing with the Turtles and Dancing with the Ducks,” yet the trajectory of her songwriting shifted markedly in later years. Hailing from Minnetonka, Minnesota, the singer/songwriter pairs introspective, emotionally charged lyrics with brisk, guitar-driven pop-rock arrangements. Following her relocation to San Diego, she issued her first EP, Oceans Under Jupiter, in 2005. A pair of its tracks were licensed for episodes of MTV’s The Real World, and XM Satellite Radio added several others to rotation. Two years afterward she evoked the harsh winters of her upbringing by titling her debut full-length Dreams in Cold Weather.
