Biography
Born in 1939 in Jackson, Alabama, Travis Pritchett and Bob Weaver formed a duo that briefly entered the pop spotlight during 1959. Their Top 10 entry “Tell Him No,” a country-rock number in the Everly Brothers vein that Pritchett himself composed, first appeared on the modest Sandy imprint. Once Dot Records assumed distribution duties, the track climbed to number 9 on the charts. Follow-up releases on the same label went unnoticed, and although the pair later moved to Big Top and then Mercury Records for additional sessions, none of those later efforts restored the commercial momentum they had briefly enjoyed.
