Treaty Oak Revival merges the grounded textures of Red Dirt country with a robust layer of post-grunge drive, a pairing that helped the five-member outfit build a substantial following throughout their home state of Texas during the 2020s. The 2023 arrival of Have a Nice Day allowed the group to reach audiences beyond Texas borders, a move supported by support dates with Koe Wetzel and Zach Bryan. In 2024 they issued the infectious standalone track "Happy Face."

The band’s foundation rests in Free Spirit, an Odessa, Texas cover group whose lineup featured guitarist Lance Vanley, lead guitarist Jeremiah Vanley, bassist Andrew Carey, and drummer Cody Holloway. Vocalist/guitarist Sam Canty began joining their jam sessions, prompting Free Spirit’s shift into Treaty Oak Revival in 2019. Shortly thereafter the newly formed act played its inaugural concert at Odessa’s Ector Theatre.

Two singles appeared in quick succession in 2020: the live cut “Ode to Bourbon (Live)” and the studio recording “No Vacancy.” A full-length album titled No Vacancy, written chiefly by Canty, followed in 2021 and was trailed by the single “Leaving Hell.” The members spent 2022 on the road yet still found time to release “Stay Tuned.” After unveiling the early-2023 collaboration “Throw Away” with Sterling Elza, the group entered the studio with producer Taylor Kimball. Issued that November, Have a Nice Day reflected an intensified songwriting partnership between Canty and Lance Vanley, highlighted by the strong streaming performance of “In Between” and “I’m the Worst.” The independent single “Happy Face” surfaced the following September.
