Trementina

Emerging in the early 2010s from Valdivia, Chile, shoegaze quartet Trementina shaped its identity through a blend of influences. The lineup featured bassist Lucas Martinic, vocalist Vanessa Cea, guitarist Cristobal Ortiz, and drummer Andrés, drawing on classic pioneers such as the ubiquitous My Bloody Valentine and Ride while also incorporating ambient experimenters and newer indie pop acts like CHVRCHES and Purity Ring that pushed the boundaries of the genre. Their first album, Brilliant Noise, arrived in 2013 on Japanese imprint Vinyl Junkie Recordings, with the 2015 successor Almost Reach the Sun appearing via Chilean label BYM. Trementina then aligned with U.S. indie brand Burger Records for the 2017 release 810.
