Biography
Born in June 1950 in Kingston Upon Hull, East Riding, Yorkshire, England, Trevor Bolder secured his initial significant opportunity in the music industry during 1971 by contributing to David Bowie’s Hunky Dory. He continued the association with Bowie on The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, and he also appeared on Dana Gillespie’s Weren’t Born a Man prior to entering the Mick Ronson Band in 1973. That group dissolved the following year after issuing Slaughter on 10th Avenue. In 1975 Bolder established the Spiders from Mars, which produced a lone self-titled release. The next step came in 1976 when he took John Wetton’s place in Uriah Heep, remaining until 1981 and participating in four albums during that period. Although Uriah Heep effectively disbanded in 1980, Bolder still recorded with Ken Hensley on a solo project. By 1981 he had joined Wishbone Ash—once more stepping in for Wetton—yet the tenure proved brief, leading him back to Uriah Heep in 1983, this time replacing Bob Daisley. Trevor Bolder succumbed to cancer in May 2013 in Cottingham, East Riding of Yorkshire, England, at the age of 62.
