Hailing from Argentina, TRÍADA emerged as an acoustic trio anchored by Diamela Spina on vocals and percussion, Julia Percowicz on vocals, and Aylen Reynoso on guitar. While enrolled in performing arts studies in Buenos Aires, the three aspiring performers developed a close bond that prompted them to begin capturing and posting acoustic renditions online in 2023, focusing on material by Jorge Drexler, Vinicius de Moraes, and Fito Páez. Their fresh, stripped-down approach to an array of South American styles—primarily bossa nova, Argentine rock, pop, and folk, along with candombe and touches of jazz—rapidly built an engaged audience across social platforms. The worldwide promise of their Latin-retro aesthetic drew interest from the storied Verve label, which put out the group’s debut single, a take on João Gilberto’s classic “O Pato,” in December 2024. Plans called for a full-length release the following year.
