Biography
Originally based in Decatur, Georgia, the hardcore crunk outfit Trilltown Mafia first caught the ear of Rap-a-Lot executives through Don P., a key figure in the established Southern rap group Trillville. Serving as their producer, Don P. guided core members Big Mel, Monte C, Lil' J-Rok, and Legacy as they developed a following via three raw, Southern-infused underground mixtapes titled Welcome to Trilltown, Target Practice, and The Mi Tae, after which they dropped the polished single "Town Walk," which quickly became a club staple. Their first proper album, It Goes Without Sayin, arrived in summer 2006 and collected the strongest tracks from those earlier releases while adding guest spots from Lloyd, Pimp C, and Trillville's lineup.
