Biography
In 2003 drummer Jack DeJohnette formed the jazz group Trio Beyond expressly to honor percussionist Tony Williams. Guitarist John Scofield joined Larry Goldings, whose contributions on electric piano, Hammond B-3 organ, and sampler completed the lineup, after which the ensemble began arranging and delivering performances. A concert they presented at Queen Elizabeth Hall during the 2004 London Jazz Festival was documented and issued two years later as the trio’s first album, Saudades.
