Hailing from England, Tristan Cooke has built his career as a DJ and producer immersed in psychedelic trance, sustaining a ten-year connection with Twisted Records. His introduction to electronic dance music occurred during extensive travels across Asia, most notably through time spent in Goa, where he encountered the island’s celebrated beach parties devoted to the genre. Upon returning home, that fascination persisted, prompting him to acquire turntables and start mixing records. Alongside friends, he organized underground dance events in any available spaces, which secured an early-nineties residency for the collective at Birmingham’s Q Club. Tristan began creating original material in 1993, issuing his first recording on the Matsuri Productions label two years later. Subsequent releases appeared on Aquatec Records, 21-3 Records, and Flying Rhino Records before his initial Twisted Records outing arrived in 1998 via the Inside Out EP. He continued the association for another decade, delivering the studio albums Audiodrome in 1999 and Substance in 2002, the mix collection Twisted Sessions, Vol. 1 in 2002, and additional 12-inch EPs. The year 2007 marked a move to Nano Records for his third full-length effort, Chemisphere. Worldwide bookings for both DJ sets and live performances placed him on stages at nearly every prominent psychedelic trance festival over successive seasons, as well as at broader events including Glastonbury.
