Tristan Perich

Born in 1982, Tristan Perich works across visual, musical, and electronic domains. A graduate of Columbia University, he channels his engagement with physics and mathematics into both his visual and sonic output rather than drawing primary stimulus from other musicians or bands. In the visual realm he gained recognition for constructing mechanical systems that generate pen-and-paper drawings governed by mathematical formulas. Extending these principles into sound, he launched the 1-Bit Music project in 2004, realizing it through primitive, hand-programmed electronics that quickly earned widespread acclaim throughout the electronic-music press. His installations have been presented in both New York and Australia.
