The Trolls, a Pueblo, Colorado garage band, initially featured singer and guitarist Richard Gonzales alongside organist Fred Brescher and drummer Phil Head, later expanding with the addition of bassist Monty Baker and lead guitarist Doug Rymerson. As documented on the Colorado Music Page at www.mountainmusic.net, the group headed to Amarillo, Texas in 1965 for sessions with producer Ray Ruff, where they laid down the Brescher-penned tracks "That's the Way My Love Is" and "Into My Arms," which appeared as a single on the Ruff imprint, plus nearly enough further material for a full album; unfortunately the masters were destroyed when Ruff's studio burned down in 1968. In early 1966 the Trolls proceeded to Clovis, New Mexico for a date with legendary producer Norman Petty that yielded the single "Stupid Girl," though another session from the same period stayed unreleased, and after Baker entered the Colorado Springs psychedelic outfit the New World Blues Dictionary in late 1966 the remaining members disbanded soon afterward.
