Biography
Trouble Books emerged in early-2000s Ohio when married partners Keith Freund and Linda Lejsovka joined forces. Their music fuses found sounds, quirky synthesizers, and twinkly organic instrumentation, pairing an eclectic sensibility akin to the Microphones and the Books with dreamy indie-pop leanings that recall Lullatone and Tenniscoats. Friends contributed to the group’s earliest recordings, among them Mike Tolan (talons’), who frequently served as a third member. The United Colors of Trouble Books, their debut full-length, was tracked in late 2007 and issued by Bark & Hiss Records in 2008; the EP Endless Pool followed the next year. Bark & Hiss and Own Records released the sophomore album Gathered Tones in spring 2010.
