Biography
Troy Taroy, working as a singer, songwriter, and director, stays unattached romantically because he operates "D.I.Y. all the way." The ironic, literate, and nerd-fun Taroy logged years with several obscure Los Angeles outfits—the Dining Room Set, Chika Chika, Cody ChesnuTT, and the L.A. Times—before launching his independent path in 2003. That same year he shot and issued the "neo-realist musical" Vortex Follies while assembling his own group featuring Ryan Wood on guitar and vocals, Lawn Boigah on bass and vocals, and Paul Carlson on drums. Employee of the Month, an exercise in indie rocking and mocking, launched Taroy’s solo career in 2004.
