Biography
Tasmin Nicole Stephens channels Manchester's post-punk legacy through guitar duties in Duvet, yet channels an entirely separate vision into the solo endeavor TTSSFU, drawing from dream pop and shoegaze textures. The project first surfaced in 2020 as Stephens began uploading tracks while serving as Duvet's lead guitarist. Early sessions relied on minimal computer software for recording and mixing, with Stephens citing the shoegaze movement alongside Sonic Youth and Phil Elverum's the Microphones as reference points.
After issuing several standalone tracks, Stephens self-released the debut EP The Body in 2022. Duvet commitments persisted alongside further TTSSFU output, including a cluster of songs in 2023 that preceded a signing to Partisan Records, the label home of Idles, Ezra Collective, and PJ Harvey. The imprint then issued the follow-up EP Me, Jed and Andy in 2024, which included the track "Studio 54."
