Biography
Tulsa Drone emerged from Richmond, VA, where Peter Neff on dulcimer and Erik Grotz on guitars and vocals first assembled the group’s experimental slow-tempo approach in early 2001. Jim Thomson on drums, Scott Hudgins on guitar and bass, and Jim Chandler on guitar and bass were added over the following years. Local notice soon followed, placing the band on bills with Smog, Tone, Centimeters, and Big Lazy. Their debut release, No Wake, preceded the album Songs from a Mean Season, which Scott Minor of Sparklehorse produced. Kevin Cornell has since taken over on drums from Thomson.
