Biography
Tumbleweed Junction took shape as a jam band in northwestern Pennsylvania when Mark Benson (guitar, vocals, mandolin, harmonica), Peter Haver (guitar, vocals), Justin Meyers (bass), and Dave Stephen (drum, percission) came together. The quartet spent its early years playing the local college-party and tavern circuit, then moved to Atlanta, GA in 1995. There the group’s distinctive blend of rock, blues, and jazz, lightly touched by acoustic bluegrass, quickly built its standing as a compelling live ensemble. In 1998 the band issued its self-produced debut, Out of Ford City, on the independent Tumbleweed imprint.
