Turn On originated as a side endeavor uniting Tim Gane of Stereolab with Sean O'Hagan from the High Llamas, both recognized as key voices in the 1990s avant-pop underground. Andy Ramsay serves as the third participant. Among the various offshoots tied to those two bands, this project most closely echoes Stereolab's approach from the period of their 1993 album The Groop Played "Space Age Batchelor Pad Music," marked by gurgling synthesizers and multiple layers of analog keyboards.
