Biography
Turner Foddrell grew up immersed in a household steeped in music, where he developed a distinctive blues approach that wove together older traditions, among them the mountain dance sounds that filled his early surroundings. Music ran especially deep through his relatives, with his father Posey actively performing alongside every brother and one sister. His own son Lynn often shares stages with him. Foddrell first honed his skills through local performances across the Blue Ridge Mountain areas of the United States. For several years he and Lynn joined forces with his brother Marvin to form a trio, issuing two albums under that configuration. Following Marvin’s passing, the pair carried on as a duo and produced a single album together.
