Directed by Dr. Timothy Seelig, the Dallas-based Turtle Creek Chorale (TCC) functions as a male chorus whose roster exceeds 200 singers. Its programming draws from an eclectic mix that reaches from Bach through Broadway while embracing both sacred and secular material. The year 1993 marked the ensemble’s first appearance at Carnegie Hall. TCC also became the centerpiece of the PBS documentary After Goodbye: An AIDS Story, which traces the progression of loss and recovery from AIDS by examining its toll on the chorale’s members, their families, and their friends. The choir has lost 60 members during the past ten years. Appearances have included performances for Texas governor Ann Richards and the Queen of England. Across four albums the chorale delivers carefully assembled song cycles.
