Biography
Forming an acoustic trio called Twi the Humble Feather—pronounced twy rather than twee—these ambitious players weave indie pop together with lo-fi folk into a hypnotic swirl. Their arrangements feature vocal rounds, staccato fingerpicking, droning bells, and handmade percussion, prompting frequent comparisons to Animal Collective. Classically trained guitarist Anthony Lebron originated the project in New York as a bedroom recording endeavor before teaming with experimental musicians Bryan Doring and Hektor Fontanex. Several years of recording and sporadic local touring around Brooklyn preceded the release of the group’s debut album, Music for Spaceships and Forests, in 2009.
