Biography
During their brief run, New Jersey outfit Twin Hype issued two albums that yielded one standout single, “Do It to the Crowd.” The twin brothers Sly (Glennis Brown) and Slick (Lennis Brown) enlisted DJ King Shameek (Jose Matos) for the self-titled 1989 debut on Profile and its 1991 successor Double Barrel, also on Profile. While both LPs contained plenty of lesser material and neither Slick nor Sly ranked among elite MCs, tracks such as “Do It to the Crowd” and “Wrong Place, Wrong Time” supplied strong moments. The three members apparently disbanded following the second album.
