Biography
Amid Norway’s burgeoning black metal movement, Atle Wiig on vocals, guitar, and keyboards, bassist Jo-Arild Toennessen, and drummer Knut Naesje launched Twin Obscenity in 1991 to contribute their own grim yet metallic sound reinforced by heavy keyboard textures. Between 1993 and 1995 the trio tracked three demos that eventually drew the interest of Head Not Found Records, which issued the band’s debut album Where Light Touches None in 1997. Following a European tour and a subsequent contract with Century Media Records, Twin Obscenity reached American listeners the next year via For Blood, Honour and Soil.
