Producer and songwriter Matt Weiner helms the dark alternative dance outfit TWINS, an acronym standing for That Which Is Not Said. His influences range across moody post-punk, industrial dance, and Kraftwerk, with all synthesizers, drum machines, and samplers captured by the artist himself inside his Atlanta, Georgia home studio. Vocals from Weiner appear on the majority of the material, though not universally. The Peace Age No Cat label issued the split cassette Guts in 2010, a collaboration with Luke Perry (Ryan Howe), and later that year TWINS delivered the debut full-length The Other Side Of. Double Phantom Digital followed in 2011 with the EP The Insider Sings "Emotionals," after which 2012 brought both the TWINS EP Graphic Edition and a split EP with Os Ovni. Three further items arrived in 2014—the cassette mini-album Music from the Insider, the EP Cold Gemini, and the 12" single "Love Is a Luxury." CLEAR USA released the full-length Nothing Left in 2015, the same year TWINS unveiled the EPs Solid State Skin, Never Know Yourself, and Standard of Truth. Clan Destine Records put out Music from the Insider II in 2016, while Enfant Terrible issued the mini-album Rather Not that year. The quasi-eponymous LP That Which Is Not Said surfaced in 2018 via 2MR on cassette, CD, vinyl, and digital, extending the artist’s brooding, self-made synth pop.
